JONATHAN TOUBIN kicks off an unprecedented month of nyc events with the first NEW YORK NIGHT TRAIN HAPPENING in years! for those who weren’t around a few years ago, the happenings were multimedia dance parties featuring unusual combinations of live music, djs, performance art, go go dancers, and live visuals! this one is done as a collaboration with brooklyn’s prolific CAPTURED TRACKS records and feature’s live performances by the label’s JUAN WAUTERS and EZTV plus dj sets by head honcho MIKE SNIPER and JORDAN RAEDELLI! the later part of the evening is a dance party that not only reunites TOUBIN with live 16mm projectionist SPENCER BEWLEY and acrobatic hula hooper HULA HOOP HARLOT MELISSA ANNE (all three from the u.s. HAPPENING tours in 2009), but also adds ERIN SHEEHY and DEE DEE DAME, two of the dancers that have been making the SOUL CLAP & DANCE-OFF so special lately with their SHADOW DANCING – ambient two-dimensional illuminated live motion behind the screen!
and admission is FREE!
plus captured tracks and new york night train records and more will be available along with the bazaar’s many food and craft vendors. plus as always beer, art ping pong, putt putt, and more…
