Blur certainly isn’t the most popular band to come out of the UK in the last 20 years. In fact, it wasn’t until the band waxed poetically over the difficulty of getting head checks by jumbo jets that they began to gain traction on this side of the pond. While there was much excitement about the Blur reunion back in 2009, the nervous anticipation of a new album began to wane as it became apparent that neither Damon or his bandmates seemed as excited about the completion of new material as their rabid fanbase. But lo and behold, seemingly out of thin air came that fateful announcement. The Magic Whip, Blur’s latest album, will be released on April 28. So naturally, we at Feeling Gloomy HQ decided that now would be as good a time as any to hold our very own tribute to Blur for the month of April, in case the boys decide not to release anything for another 12 years.

GLOOMLIFE, a dance party tribute to Blur

+ A game of musical stools to score some Blur vinyl!

+ Gloom brother Gordon will be away this month, finding out if the West coast is indeed the best coast, so Nathaniel and a guest DJ will be playing armfulls of Britpop as well as modern classics for you to dance the night away to.
