The first-ever Soul Clap & Dance-Off was an intimate NY Night Train family affair for around fifty people on a cold March 2007 night. Hundreds of Claps later on five continents, the little party that could is still chuggin’ strong…. And every year there’s a big blowout to commemorate the occasion!
For the 8th birthday, JONATHAN TOUBIN will turns his favorite Soul Clap classics all night while thee fabulous NY Night Train SHADOW DANCERS do their thing ’til the wee we hours!
Also we are thrilled to announce that the 1AM DANCE-OFF features a world-class music and party legend/icon – contest selector RANDY JONES – THE ORIGINAL COWBOY FORM THE VILLAGE PEOPLE! Referee STEVE MYERS of AFGHAN WIGS, MIGHTY FINE, and more will be on hand as well. The winner as usual gets $100 CASH PRIZE and 2nd place gets a $75 METROPOLIS VINTAGE CERTIFICATE and then both champs stay on stage to compete with this ALL OF THE LAST YEAR’S CONTEST WINNERS for a $500 CASH PRIZE! So if you walk in and win the contest then advance to the championship round, you can walk with as much as $600!
