SAMO SOUND BOY’s powerful live sets and original productions have brought him to the forefront of today’s forward-minded club scene. The producer and DJ earned his chops DJing at Fugees 99, a Nigerian-owned dancehall in the south end of Buenos Aires, developing a love of crunk, club, and Chicago house. The result remains a uniquely rugged but soulful sound of his own, being described by journalists as weird, banging, and beautiful. Samo started his own label, Body High, with Jerome Potter in 2011, who he also producers music under the name DJ Dodger Stadium.
Brooklyn’s Lemonade cerebral sounds reached a new apex last year when they released their third album Minus Tide. Inspired by beloved 80’s sophisti-pop, melancholic ambience and Balearic disco, their songwriting undeniably more mature and sophisticated on this album. Their live show is a celebration of all forms of wanderlust and the eternal pursuit of pleasure through exploration.
Dubbel Dutch is impervious to the crutches of genres, though a student of many of them. An accomplished producer of cosmic tone poems and club anthems from the abyss, many claim his now classic Throwback 12” on Palms Out Sounds saved their lives–or at least taught them a lesson in modern retrofitting.
MICKEY spins true house with meaning and passion. His incredible knowledge and respect for the genre’s past, present and future shows in his captivating and deep sets. He has enjoyed residencies at notable Brooklyn clubs such as TBA and Cameo Gallery as well as DIY factory shows. You can find him in the Shelter section of A1 records or swaying in the club, late night.
