Prince Language, a native of Chicago, has been a fixture of the New York dance music scene for well over a decade running. His deep and resourceful knowledge of the music and the culture of dance music stems from him growing up immersed in hip hop and classic Chicago house culture, listening to Hot Mix 5 and studying Ron Hardy tapes. His edits for the Editions Disco label are now collectors items and include sublime takes on classics and underappreciated gems by Donald Byrd, Gino Soccio, Roy Ayers, Jean-Luc Ponty, and Lindsey Buckingham, primed for dancefloor satisfaction. He also has released remix work for the likes of LCD Soundsystem, the Juan McLean, Armand van Helden, Azari & Ill and more. He currently is a resident DJ at Le Bain where he sometimes gets to play with some of the heroes of dance history including recently, Farley Jackmaster Funk. We are very excited to see what Language brings to the new rotary mixer and the great system at Black Flamingo.
Private Panther is a DJ with roots in Pittsburgh and Berlin, who grew up cutting class to go dig at the legendary Jerry’s Records looking for breaks and funky cuts on vinyl. He has built an enormous record collection over the years and loves dedicating his time to discovering gems to play or edit of both rare and common recordings. He has been in NY for nearly a decade and has acquired many great record collections, including the archives of Bobby Robinson, the founder of Enjoy Records. He has released house music on Let’s Play House Direct and his edits and tracks have been played out by Danny Krivit, Jacques Renault, Wolf Music, No Regular Play and more. He is very excited and pleased to introduce his Private Pleasure residency to Black Flamingo.
