The UK duo are known for their beautiful production work, prolific remixing skills, obscenely vast record collections and transcendent mixtape journeys.
Their studio output has been prolific to say the least; Recent remixes projects include Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Public Service Broadcasting, Roisin Murphy, Morcheeba, Haim and Bryan Ferry.
Original track ‘Mink & Shoes’ featured on Smirnoff’s ‘Filter the Unnecessary’ TV campaign (2014/15) and is soon to have a full release (early Sept 2015). Their other original productions include Black Noir Schwarz (Crosstown Rebels, 2014), Chimera (Om Records 2014) and the self released Valley Of Paradise and Lunar Escape EPs (2013).
Psychemagik’s first appearance on wax was an edit of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’, which quickly found its way into the record bags of veterans like Tom Middleton and Greg Wilson. The duo have since released an impressive array of highly acclaimed edits and compilations alongside their remixes and original productions and now perform extensively all over the world at major festivals, clubs and special events.
Their mixes paint the story of two extraordinarily talented and passionate guys. Some blatantly show that Psychemagik can absolutely dominate a dancefloor. Others, like Canyon Haze and their guest mixes for the Test Pressing podcast, are gorgeously composed psychedelic experiences and give you an idea of just how deep their record collections really are. It seems they may actually have the perfect record for any time and any place.
It is this incredible ear for musical treasures and their dedication to the art of digging that has lead to the success of their recent compilations, Psychemagik Presents: ‘Magik Cyrkles’ and ‘Magik Sunrise’ and their own self released ‘Diabolical Synthetic Fantasy’. All of which have featured in the End of Year Top 10’s at most good record shops bestsellers lists globally including Rough Trade, Phonic and Piccadilly Records. The much anticipated follow up ‘Magik Sunset (part 1)’ was recently released and was compilation of the week on Lauren Laverne’s Sixmusic show. Forthcoming is the final and second instalment of Magik Sunset, due to hit stores September 4th 2015.
They have developed a reputation as the go to guys for mega rare records and samples that you can’t and won’t find anywhere else. Their satisfied customers include 2 Many Dj’s/Soulwax, Chemical Brothers, Q-Tip and Fake Blood amongst many others.
With more original studio productions, a new label about to launch and a steady stream of remixes for some of the worlds most talented acts all just around the corner, they’ve set the controls for the heart of the sun and are heading into a whole new stratosphere of creativity in 2015.
